Detective appears in court

The pair spoke in court only to confirm their names
A Cambridgeshire detective and a Crown Prosecution Service administrator were committed on Tuesday to face a crown court trial on charges of conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Detective Constable Brian Stevens, 42, and Louise Austin, 32, who both live in Cambridgeshire appeared at Bedford Magistrates Court.

They spoke only to confirm their personal details during a hearing before magistrates in Bedford.

Both were released on bail and are next due to appear at Luton Crown Court on September 23.
