Bogus water officials steal £2,000
Bogus water service engineers have stolen more than £2,000 from a partially blind man in Worcestershire.

The pair called at the man's house in Chestnut Close, Welland, at about 1300 BST on 11 September.

Police say the men told the householder that they had to turn the water off because of a problem further up the road.

As one man spoke to the householder the second man went upstairs and banged on the bath.

When they left they told the man they would be back in an hour to turn the water back on.

They had also stolen his pension book.

One man was about 22, 6 ft tall and well spoken. He was clean shaven with short, dark blonde hair and was wearing a dark bomber jacket.
