Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to a road crash which killed a 15-year-old girl and injured her twin sister.

Lauren Pounder, of Longridge, Knutsford, Cheshire, was killed and her sister Carly injured when the silver Honda Civic they were travelling in left the road.

The accident happened on Dunham Road in Warburton, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of Sunday 20 July.

Carly Pounder suffered minor injuries and the driver of the car, a 20-year-old man from Lymm, suffered a cracked rib.

Two other passengers - a 13-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl - were also treated for injuries.

Greater Manchester Police say the silver J-registered Honda Civic travelled on the A50 and onto the A556 towards Manchester, through Dunham Island and onto Charcoal Road.

They are appealing for anyone who saw the car before the accident to get in touch.
