August was the third driest month Jersey has seen since 1894

August 2003 was the warmest in Jersey on record, according to figures form the island's Met Office.
The warmest day ever recorded in Jersey was on 9 August, when temperatures reached 36C (97F).
The average temperature each day was nearly 21C (70F).
Forecaster Frank le Blancq says it will be remembered for many years to come, as it was exceptionally warm and dry.
Reservoir levels
It also proved to be the driest August since 1976, with just 2.3 millimetres falling at the St Louis weather station.
It was the third driest month since the Jersey Met Office's records from its current site began in 1894.
The conditions caused more problems for the island's water supplies, with the reservoir levels steadily decreasing.
A hosepipe ban is still in place, and the Jersey New Waterworks Company is asking people to continue to not waste water until rainfall levels increase.
