Pub landlord tied up and beaten
A pub manager was left with serious injuries after being tied up and beaten during a robbery.

The landlord of the Britannia pub in Tewkesbury's High Street was asleep in his room above the bar when two robbers broke in during the early hours of Saturday.

They demanded cash and launched a vicious attack on the man, punching and kicking him as he lay in bed.

The pair then tied him up and forced him to hand over the keys to the safe before making off with cash and personal items.

The manager, who is in his early 20s, needed hospital treatment for serious injuries to his face, chest and arms.

He is now recovering at home and police investigating the break-in are to speak to him once he is up to it.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police.
