Witness appeal after robbery
Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a newsagents in a village in Cambridgeshire.

A man is believed to have entered the shop on Cinques Road, Gamlingay, between 1710 and 1715 BST on 11 September.

He approached the counter attempting to pay for some goods.

As the till was opened, the shop assistant was distracted and a quantity of cash was taken.

The man is believed to have then got into a light blue Vauxhall Cavalier, which was parked outside the shop, before making off towards the centre of Gamlingay.

Key witness sought

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said the man is described as white, in his early 20s skinny and was scruffy looking.

The man also had a white builders' face mask around his neck, which he pulled up over his face during the robbery.

Police Constable Jonathon Powell, who is investigating the robbery, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the shop around the time of the incident.

"We are particularly keen to speak to a man who is believed to have been leaving the shop as the offender was entering.

"He had a young child with him. We believe he may have key information on the man and the vehicle described, and we would ask him to contact us.
