Father and son injured in crash

An eight-year-old boy and his father were seriously injured when their car was in a crash with a tractor and trailer in Cheadle.

The accident happened on Delphouse Road shortly before 0700 BST on Sunday, when a Fiat Cinquecento collided with the tractor and trailer.

The boy suffered serious head injuries and his father had injuries to his leg.

Both are being treated at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to contact them.
