A man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man in County Antrim last year.
Jason Loughlin, 27, from Bryson Court, New Mossley, was charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm to Trevor Gowdy.
Mr Gowdy was found unconscious in Monkstown after four men attacked him with an iron bar and hammer in December 2002.
A detective constable told the court that when charged, Mr Loughlin replied: "Definitely not guilty".
He was remanded in custody until 15 August.
