Man killed in car accident

A man has been killed and another man seriously injured after the car they were in smashed into a wall.

Police say the man, who is from Bradford, was pronounced dead at the scene on Woodhall Lane, Calverley, Leeds.

The accident happened outside Calverley Golf Club at 2245 BST on Friday.

A second man in the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries where his condition has been described as "critical".

Meanwhile, West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to another road accident in which a pedestrian received severe injuries.

A spokesman for the force said the woman was involved in a collision with a blue Fiat Ulysses on Station Road, Ossett, at about 0140 BST on Saturday.
