Five hurt in fire engine crash
A family of five people were injured after their car was in collision with a fire engine answering a 999 call in Derby on Friday evening.

A woman along with her two sons and her parents were taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary by ambulance after the accident at about 1800 BST.

Eyewitnesses said the fire engine went through traffic lights on the way to a house fire in the city centre.

The car was collided with a shop wall and the fire engine knocked over a traffic light beacon.

It is not believed anyone was seriously injured in the accident.

The collision happened at the junction of Uttoxeter New Road and Uttoxeter Old Road in Derby.
