Police crack down on nuisance drivers
Young motorists who "cause trouble" on a park in Stoke-on-Trent are being warned they could have their vehicles impounded.

More than 500 vehicles have been stopped and checked by police at Festival Park as part of a crack down on anti-social behaviour.

Twelve drivers have been booked for speeding, and having defective tyres on their cars and there has been arrests for possession of drugs and the fraudulent use of vehicle excise licences.

Inspector Bill James, from Staffordshire Police, said some motorists have been warned they run the risk of having their cars impounded if they continue to cause a nuisance.

"It's an acknowledgement to those businesses, visitors and residents on the park that they've suffered enough now over the last few weeks and we're going to put it right," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"Secondly it's a warning to people coming to Festival Park hell bent on causing trouble and causing anti-social behaviour, be prepared to have your vehicles taken away from you."
