Two bailed over baby's death

A man and a woman who were arrested in Essex on suspicion of the murder of a baby have been released on police bail.

The 22-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman from Southend were both arrested on Friday morning in connection with the death of Reece Edwards, who was six weeks old.

Reece was taken to Southend Hospital on the 10 July.

He was later transferred to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington but died two days later.

A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was a head injury.

Inquiries are continuing and the couple have been released on bail until October.
