Mr Croydon's body was found at the Hilton East Midlands Airport Hotel
An accountant has appeared in court charged with murdering her husband in a hotel.

Businessman Philip Edward Croydon, 49, was staying at the Hilton East Midlands Airport Hotel in Kegworth, Leicestershire, when staff found his body in a bedroom.

His 37-year-old wife, Carol, who was also his partner in an upholstery business, appeared before a judge at Leicester Crown Court for a brief hearing on Friday.

The body of Mr Croydon, from Paddock Close, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, was discovered in the early hours of 26 April this year.

Carol Croydon, 37, spoke only to confirm her name during the hearing.

She was remanded back into custody for a plea and directions hearing on October 27.

A provisional trial date was set for 26 January 2004.
