A man arrested by police investigating the petrol-bombing of a busy kebab van has been released.
A group of people were waiting for food and two people were serving inside the kebab van, parked in a lay-by on the A339 near Saxon Wood, Basingstoke, when the attack happened on Wednesday night.
The petrol bomb was lit and then thrown from a passing white Ford Fiesta van, by one of two men wearing balaclavas - missing the serving hatch by inches.
The 27-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life on Thursday, has been released on police bail until September.
A vehicle matching the description of the van used in the attack was later found abandoned a few miles away in the grounds of the old Park Prewitt hospital.
Detective Sergeant Darren Rawlings, of Hampshire Police, said: "We urgently need to hear from anyone who has seen the van in the last couple of weeks and who knows who has been using it.
"We also need to trace a white man who witnessed the attack, but who left the scene without talking to police."
