Mother on child murder charge

An 18-year-old mother has appeared in court charged with the murder of her daughter.

Tanya Jennys, of Steer Street, Burnley, is accussed of killing her 18-month-old child Sarah.

Sarah died in Burnley General Hospital on Wednesday.

Ms Jennys has been remanded in custody by Burnley magistrates to appear at Preston Crown Court on 23 July.

There was no application for bail.
