Afghan President Hamid Karzai says Pakistan should change its attitude towards his country and end cross-border attacks by extremists.
In an interview with a British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, Mr Karzai said he wanted to develop a relationship of friendship and understanding with Islamabad, but both Pakistan and the United States had to realise this would not happen unless Pakistan changed its attitude.
Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been tense, following allegations of Pakistani incursions into Afghan territory and the ransacking last week of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.
Officials from the US, Afghanistan and Pakistan agreed at a meeting earlier this week to send a joint team to investigate reports of border clashes between Pakistani and Afghan troops.
