Man jailed for street robberies
A Telford man has been jailed for four years for a string of offences, including a violent mugging.

John Webb, 35, of Freeston Avenue, St George's, admitted a list of crimes, including assaulting his wife, a second street robbery and one count of criminal damage.

Shrewsbury Crown Court heard on Friday how one of Webb's mugging victims was beaten unconscious.

The prosecution also described how Webb assaulted his wife by throwing a bottle of vodka at her, bruising her face.

The police had to use CS gas to control Webb when they came to speak to him about the attack.

The court was told that Webb had made up with his wife and accepted he had behaved "disgracefully".
