Body found near cliff is missing man
Investigators on the beach
The remains were found at an area known as the Warren

A man, whose remains were found at the base of a coastal cliff in Kent, has been named by police.

Andrew McLellan, 32, went missing from his home on Downs Road, in Folkestone, in May this year.

His body was discovered by a fisherman near Abbot's Cliff in Folkestone on Wednesday.

Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious and say they think the body may have been on the beach for about two months.

Difficulty reaching scene

An investigation is underway to determine how the remains came to be at the base of the cliffs in an area known as the Warren.

It is believed the police had difficulty reaching the scene because of the location and a thunderstorm.

The coastguard was called to assist in retrieving the remains.

A Dover coastguard spokesman said the body parts were mainly bones.

He said they were not just found on the beach but up the cliff as well.
