Three arrested in murder hunt

Asan Ratnasegaram was attacked in a car
Three men have been arrested in connection with the death of a Sri Lankan teenager who was stabbed at a road junction.

Asan Ratnasegaram was sitting in his car with friends when they were attacked by a gang armed with hammers and axes in Wembley, north-west London on Saturday.

The 18-year-old died from his injuries and his two friends drove off to escape the gang.

Police involved in the murder investigation arrested three men from north London at 0600 BST on Wednesday.

A 25-year-old from Harlesden, a 22-year-old from Harrow and a 19-year-old from Northolt are being held in custody at different stations in west London.

Scotland Yard has set up a specialist unit to liaise with the Tamil community following the attack.
