A man has been arrested by detectives investigating a barber's shop shooting in Birmingham.
Mohammed Javed, 20, was shot in the back and head then dragged out of his chair in the shop in Witton Road, Aston and attacked again, leaving him with severe injuries.
West Midlands Police said a 21-year-old man was detained on Thursday night in Aston on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident of 28 June.
A police spokesman confirmed the man was being questioned about a shooting at Rashid & Son in Witton Road.
Another man in the shop suffered a broken shoulder when the gunmen, thought to have been about five in number, beat him with a blunt instrument.
Rashid & Son is a short distance from the hairdressing salon where college friends Letisha Shakespeare, 17, and Charlene Ellis, 18, were murdered outside a New Year party on 2 January.
Detectives have been looking into the possibility that the shooting of Mr Javed was a revenge attack.
