Nephew 'rebuilds life' after crash
A man who was badly injured in a hit-and-run crash in which his uncle died says he suffers flashbacks and is still unable to work a year after the tragedy happened.

Mohibur Rahmen, 29, was driving his uncle Mofiz Ullah home when a stolen Saab smashed into them in the Millfield area of Sunderland.

The male driver and a woman were jailed for 11 and six years respectively in connection with the incident.

Mr Rahmen says he has been unable to rebuild his life and suffers depression.

He said: "My recovery has been very slow."

Mofiz Ullah, 68, from Hutton Street in Millfield, died after the car in which he was a passenger was hit by a car on St Mark's Road in Millfield.

Mr Rahmen was left with serious head, back and chest injuries, and was treated in Sunderland Royal Hospital, before being released to start his recovery back to health.
