Body found in Tyneside house

The body of a man has been found in a house in Gateshead early on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to a house in Rectory Road in the town at 0114 BST where the body of the 29-year-old was discovered.

Officers from the Northumbria force are investigating the cause of the death.

They have said the death is not being treated as suspicious, although further inquiries are being made.

A police spokesman said a man had been arrested and would be interviewed during the day.
