A man has been charged with the murder of 52-year-old June Everitt from Luton in Bedfordshire.

Manny Davis, 30, of Artisan Crescent, St Albans, appeared before magistrates in Luton on Friday, Bedfordshire Police said.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Luton Crown Court on Friday 25 July.

No application for bail was made.

Ms Everitt was unloading shopping from her Renault Megane close to her home in Ridgeway Road in the town on Thursday 3 July.

A man allegedly climbed inside, reversed and sped off, dragging her along the ground.

Ms Everitt died later in hospital from her injuries.

The car was recovered on Monday, parked in a cul-de-sac about two miles away from Ms Everitt's home.
