A teenager accused of stabbing a pensioner to death has appeared before Preston Crown Court.
Daniel Rogerson, 19, of Shaw Lane, Nether Kellet near Carnforth, Lancashire, is charged with the murder of 78-year-old Richard Hodgson.
Mr Hodgson had been reported missing on Thursday 4 July after leaving his home in Shaw Lane to do some gardening.
When he did not return a large search involving mountain rescue teams was launched.
His body was found 12 hours later in his back garden.
A post-mortem examination revealed he had been stabbed to death.
The case was adjourned to October 1.
