Woman killed in road crash

A woman has been killed and five people injured in a road accident at Market Weighton Hill.

Two children have been taken to hospital following the crash between two vehicles, one of which was towing a caravan.

The accident happened on the A1079 near Market Weighton around 1240 BST on Thursday.

A girl was flown to Hull Royal Infirmary by helicopter with serious head and leg injuries.

A small boy was taken to hospital in Hull with serious head injuries and three men received treatment following the accident.

Traffic diversions were put in place at Arras crossroads.
