Teachers in Leeds have called off the planned strike

A planned strike by more than 1,000 teachers in Leeds has been called off by union officials.
Up to 200 schools were set to be disrupted by the 24-hour stoppage on Thursday in protest at 14 compulsory redundancies among staff.
A statement from Education Leeds said: "All Leeds schools that would have been affected by the strike will now be open apart from Prince Henry's in Otley.
"Parents are advised to check with their local school if they have any concerns.
The National Union of Teachers said the strike had been averted following talks with Education Leeds.
