Car collides with metal barrier
Five passengers, including a 23-month-old baby girl, were injured when the car they were in collided with a metal crash barrier in Shropshire.

The Peugeot 206, which was driven by a 17-year-old, ended up submerged in water following the incident on Long Lane on the A442 in Telford about 2020 BST on Tuesday.

Both the passengers and the driver managed to crawl out of the wrecked car.

The baby girl suffered a head injury and a 24-year-old woman was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital with a broken hip.

The other three passengers, including a six-year-old boy, had minor cuts and bruises while the driver escaped unhurt.

West Mercia Police say no other vehicle was involved and are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
