Boy dragged from bus stop
A man tried to abduct a six-year-old boy as he stood with his mother at a bus stop.

Police said the boy was standing at the stop at the junction of Hartingdon Road and Lewes Road in Brighton.

The child was with his mother, and a group of four other adults and 10 children.

Police said the man approached the boy, took him by the hand and then led him away.

Khaki shorts

The boy managed to pull away from the man and fell to the ground crying and the offender then walked off along Lewes Road.

The abduction attempt happened on 10 July but details about the incident were only released on Wednesday.

Pc Tracey Dixon, from Brighton and Hove Child Protection Team, said: "Just after 1500 BST is very busy on a school day with parents collecting their children from school and making their way home.

"I need anyone who was at the bus stop and witnessed the incident or who recognises the man to call the police."

The man is described by police as being in his mid 20s with strawberry blonde hair and of medium build.

He was wearing a beige short sleeved shirt and khaki shorts.
