Five hurt as car hits crash barrier
Five people including a 23-month-old baby girl and a six-year-old boy were injured when the car they were in smashed through a crash barrier on the A442 in Telford.

The baby suffered a head injury and bruising, while a 24-year-old woman was taken to the town's Princess Royal Hospital with a broken hip.

The other three passengers, including the six-year-old boy, had minor cuts and bruises.

The 17-year-old driver was unhurt.

They were travelling in a blue Peugeot 206 when it crashed through metal barriers on Long Lane, near the Bucks Head pub, at about 2020 BST on Tuesday.

The passengers and driver crawled out of the wreckage, but the car ended up in a ditch partly submerged in water.

Telford police say no other vehicle was involved and are appealing for witnesses.
