Body find closes motorway

Police have closed a busy section of motorway near Bradford after the body of a woman was discovered on the road.

All three lanes of the westbound carriageway of the M62 have been closed near to junction 26, the M606 turning.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "We can confirm that a female in her forties has suffered fatal injuries."

West Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public at 1031 BST on Wednesday reporting that a body was lying on the motorway.

The Oxford Road bridge has also been closed while officers investigate.
