The improvements are to make it easier to merge into traffic
The Highways Agency has announced plans for a scheme to cut accidents and improve safety on the A12 in Suffolk.

A link road is to be built at the junction with Pound Lane at Capel St Mary near Ipswich.

The £400,000 scheme will include the construction of a link road between Old London Road and the C426 Bentley Road.

Highways Agency Project Manager Julian O'Dell said: "The proposed improvement scheme would provide road users with a safer route to access the A12 and the village of Capel St Mary."

Work is expected to begin later this year.

Plans for the scheme can be seen at Suffolk County Council, St Edmunds House, County Hall in Ipswich and at the Capel St Mary Village Hall.
