Gang set man alight
A man suffered severe burns when a gang set him alight during a street attack, it has emerged.

The victim was attacked by a group of men in the Possil area of Glasgow on Tuesday morning.

The men are believed to have poured lighter fluid over their 24-year-old victim and then ignited it.

Police said the man suffered extensive burns and was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as serious.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman said it was treating the attack as attempted murder

A spokesman said: "The incident is believed to have involved four or five men.

"Detectives are treating the case as attempted murder and are appealing for witnesses."

The attack happened between 0130 and 0150 BST on Tuesday in Saracen Street, near Hawthorn Street.
