The ground floor flat in Kingsley Street
The man was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital

A murder hunt has been launched after a man was stabbed to death.

Kent Police said they were called to an address in Maidstone at about 2230 BST on Tuesday.

When they arrived at the ground floor flat in Kingsley Road they found a man in his 60s suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The man was taken to Maidstone General Hospital but he was pronounced dead at 2330 BST.

Detectives have now started a murder investigation into the death.

Private and polite

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Harris, said: "At the moment we do not know exactly what happened.

"It is possible the attack took place inside the flat and that he staggered outside in the street and sought assistance after wards.

"But at the moment we are keeping an open mind and are trying to piece it together."

Neighbours of the man described him as polite person who was quite private.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
