Motorists suffered long delays after a lorry overturned and spilled a load of animal carcasses across a busy A-road.
Teams spent more than 12 hours removing the beef from part of the A34 near Newbury, Berkshire.
The road fully reopened at about 1600 BST on Wednesday.
Lanes two and three of the northbound carriageway, near to junction 13 of the M4, were blocked by the accident at 0400 BST.
The driver of the lorry was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon with minor injuries and has now been discharged.
It is believed he was taking the beef to butchers' shops.
A Thames Valley police spokeswoman said: "We are advising people to expect delays and to find alternative routes if at all possible."
