Man dies in 'suspicious' fire

A man has died and two others were injured in a fire at a flat in Merseyside.

A man has been arrested in connection with the fire in the Waterloo area, which police say they are treating as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to Manley Road at about 2300 BST on Tuesday, after a call from a member of the public.

They found the body of a man, believed to be in his 40s.

Two other men, aged 51 and 45, suffered burns to their hands and arms.

Merseyside police were due to question the arrested man on Wednesday.
