Holiday man drowns
Police are investigating after a Devon man died while on holiday in Menorca.

Christopher Read, 49, is believed to have drowned while swimming at the diving resort of Cala en Porter in the south of the island.

Mr Read was holidaying on the island with his wife and daughter.

Reports say a green flag was flying at the time, showing it was safe to swim.

Four other bathers got him ashore as a Red Cross launch arrived at the scene.

Attempts by the Red Cross crew and ambulance staff failed to revive Mr Read.
