Dyslexia provision praised
Meeting at Guernsey's Dyslexia Day Centre
Shirley Cramer is pleased with her findings during her visit to Guernsey
Guernsey is recognising dyslexia amongst young children more quickly than in the UK.

The Chief Executive of the Dyslexia Institute says the island Guernsey makes excellent provision for dyslexic children in primary schools.

Shirley Cramer is pleased with her findings during her visit to Guernsey.

She says the island is providing a good example of dyslexia care which other places should follow.

'Very best help'

She says she will be talking to Guernsey's Education Council about building on the work already done, to provide adequate dyslexia care for all age groups in Guernsey.

"It's very important that children with dyslexia are identified and get help as early as possible.

"What you have here on Guernsey, in the primary schools, is the possibility of getting the very best help for your child with dyslexia, that rates very well," she said.
