A 34-year-old woman has been charged with trying to kill her six-year-old daughter after the pair were pulled from a canal Blackburn.
Ruksana Hashmi and her daughter Kinzah were rescued from the canal in April by a 16-year-old boy who saw the pair in distress.
The teenager jumped into the Leeds-Liverpool Canal to pull them out, and has since been nominated for a bravery award.
Lancashire Police said on Tuesday that Ms Hashmi, from Blackburn, has been charged with the attempted murder of her daughter in connection with the incident.
She is due to appear before magistrates in Blackburn on Friday.
