Hunt for £1.5m safe box raider
CCTV grab of the suspect
The man opened an account seven months before the theft
Police are trying to trace a man after £1.5m worth of items were stolen from safety deposit boxes in a "well planned and sophisticated theft".

Police believe the theft took place on 28 June at Hatton Gardens Safety Deposit Ltd in central London.

But the theft of the cash and jewellery was not discovered for two days.

The man detectives want to question arrived at the premises with a black holdall on the day of the robbery at 0900 BST.

Police say the theft took place between when the man arrived and noon.

The man had opened up a safe deposit facility seven months before under the name of Philip Goldberg and he has been described as a frequent visitor to the place.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said he also uses the name Ruben Luis.

Appealing for information, DI Pete Milner of Holborn CID said: "It would appear that this was a well planned and sophisticated theft targeting security boxes containing large amounts of cash and jewellery."

He is described as white, about 50-55-years-old, around 6 ft 4 ins tall, and of stocky build.
