Transplant woman recovering well
Zoe Linley and her boyfriend Mike Whiting
Zoe Linley's boyfriend Mike Whiting was terrified he would lose her
A woman given a liver transplant three weeks ago has left hospital and is making a good recovery.

Doctors said Zoe Linley, 28, from Belper, Derbyshire, had only 48 hours to live unless she had a transplant.

She said: "There was a point when I was in intensive care that I was a little bit worried but because of all the drugs I was on, your mind plays tricks with you."

I've had letters from other families who have been through this

Since she arrived home on Friday her family have not let her out of their sight.

Her boyfriend Mike Whiting says the fear he felt when he thought he might lose her will never go away.

He said: "When you get told someone's got 48 hours to live, it's like a window just closing and closing and it's horrendous - I wouldn't wish it on anybody."

Miss Linley been deluged by cards and messages from well-wishers - something she said is speeding her along the road to recovery.

"I've had letters from other families who have been through this so that's really good and encouraging."

There is still a chance her body could reject the new liver but for the moment she says she is just glad to be home.
