A 17-year-old youth has died after he fell from the boot of a car which was leaving a social club in Solihull.
The teenager, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital after falling from the rear of a Mazda 323.
The incident happened on Monday morning at the Land Rover Sports and Social Club.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said officers were anxious to trace witnesses to the incident, which happened shortly after 0200 BST.
"It's believed there were five people in the car,
including the driver, as it was leaving the sports and social club," said the spokesman.
"At this stage it appears the 17-year-old boy was being carried along on the boot of the car when he fell from the vehicle.
"He suffered a severe head injury and was pronounced dead in hospital."
