Teenager jailed for murdering partner
A 19-year-old woman who murdered her partner after becoming consumed with jealousy has been jailed for life.

The jury at Preston Crown Court heard how 30-year-old Mandy Burton was found beaten to death at the home the two women shared in Moorgate Street, Blackburn, last August.

The court was told Louise Berry was infatuated with Ms Burton and had become convinced she was having an affair.

Berry made a 999 call to the police a week before the attack, telling police she was going to kill Ms Burton because she was having an affair, the court heard.

'No remorse'

The court also heard there was tension in the relationship because Berry wanted to have children.

Berry, who denied murder, claimed she found Ms Burton - who was married with two children - lying injured on the settee.

She later changed her story saying she left her alive and well and in the company of a man.

Judge Peter Openshaw said Berry had not shown the slightest remorse and described it as a brutal murder.
