Man seriously injured in attack
A 22-year-old man is critically ill after suffering serious head injuries in an attack in Weston-super-Mare.

Police in the seaside town are appealing for witnesses and information following the assault in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man, who is believed to be from Birmingham and was visiting the resort with friends, was found unconscious near the Cabot Bars at 0240 BST on 13 July.

He was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where he is said to be in a critical condition.

An incident room has been set up at Weston Police Station and officers want to speak to anybody who may have been near the Cabot Bars at the time the man was found.

They say the centre of Weston-super-Mare would have been busy at this time of the night with revellers making their way home from pubs and clubs, and believe someone may have seen what happened.
