Fundraising in memory of 'bullied' teenager
Christopher O'Reilly
Christopher was a fan of Leeds United
Friends and family of a schoolboy who hanged himself after being "bullied" have launched a fundraising campaign to provide help and support for victims.

Christopher O'Reilly, 15, from Leeds, was found in his bedroom last month by his mother Rhonda with a Leeds United scarf around his neck.

She tried to resuscitate him with the help of her elder son Liam, 19, but their efforts were in vain.

Mrs O'Reilly, 46, said she has since contacted the police after hearing some of his friends say he had been bullied at school.

Police inquiries

She said: "Since we lost Christopher lots of people have been to the house and said that he had been bullied."

But she added that he did not seem to have any enemies despite saying once that he wanted to move school.

"Before we lost him he was happy. He had been watching TV.

"He even had me up and danced round the coffee table with me, laughing and joking."

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said officers have been conducting inquiries into Christopher's death on behalf of the coroner.

A charity football match was held in Leeds on Monday to raise awareness of bullying.
