Dr Hannam got into difficulties in the pool

A doctor has drowned in his children's swimming pool hours after a family party.
Robin Hannam, 50, had been enjoying the warm weather in the garden of his home in Gloucester, celebrating the birthdays of his two daughters.
At around 2130 BST on Sunday, Dr Hannam was seen diving into the above-ground pool before getting into difficulties.
His wife Lorraine, a nurse, tried to resuscitate him, but the doctor, who had recently returned from serving as a medical officer in the Gulf, was pronounced dead by a local GP.
'Not suspicious'
Mrs Hannam is being comforted at the family home in Georgian Close, Abbeymead, Gloucester, by her father, Leon White.
He said: "Everyone is very upset at the moment.
"Robin had recently been serving as a civilian doctor in the Gulf.
"There had been a family party in the garden yesterday and then in the evening when the children had gone to bed Robin went into the pool for a swim."
A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Police said: "An ambulance was called to the
property at 2130 BST and it was found that a 50 year old man had drowned.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
Gloucester coroner Alan Crickmore has been informed of the death.
