A man has died after being involved in a shooting incident in Kent in which his father was also killed.
Michael Paine was airlifted to hospital after being critically injured in the shooting in Romney Marsh on Thursday.
His father, John Paine, 78, who had been a Conservative councillor for 18 years, was shot dead.
Police said on Monday that 45-year-old Michael Paine had died on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a farm on Washington Lane, Romney Marsh, at 1149 BST on Thursday where they found both men had been shot.
Hard-working
Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the shooting.
John Paine had been a member of Shepway District Council from 1995 until his death.
Before that he represented Marsh ward on Kent County Council from 1985 to 1997.
Colleagues described Mr Paine senior, who was from Coldharbour Lane in Old Romney, as a hard-working councillor and a gentleman.
Michael Howard, MP for Folkestone and Hythe, said: "He was a man of tremendous and dedicated public service and he was always someone to whom one could turn with any problem."
A post mortem into Michael Paine's death is due to be carried out at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford on Monday afternoon.
