Body found in Sabrina hunt
Sabrina Lewis
Sabrina disappeared without her regular medication
A body believed to be that of a missing woman with learning difficulties has been found in a secluded Leicestershire field.

The discovery was made off Orchard Lane, Great Glen, on Sunday evening.

The body has yet to be formally identified but police believe it is that of Sabrina Lewis, who disappeared from her home more than two weeks ago.

The vulnerable 20-year-old went missing from the Saffron Lane area of Leicester, and despite more than 100 possible sightings, police were unable to find her.

Forensic examination

She was last seen in Southfields Drive, Saffron Lane, heading towards the Pork Pie Island at about 1730 BST on 27 June.

A woman of similar description was spotted later that day on the towpath in Glen Parva, sitting on the canal bank before heading towards Crow Mills.

It is understood the body was found by a farm worker who was harvesting rape seed.

The area has been cordoned off to allow a forensic investigation of the scene.

A post-mortem examination conducted by a Home Office pathologist is due to take place later on Monday, police said.
