Residents to see town vision
Doncaster
Doncaster residents are encouraged to give their opinions
Residents in Doncaster are being asked to give their views on plans for the rejuvenation of the town centre.

The Masterplan shows how streets like Church Way and Trafford Way can be transformed from urban dual carriageways into attractive boulevards lined with quality buildings.

Other projects include the renovation of the market, a new railway station arrival square and development at Waterdale.

A four-day exhibition showing the vision for the town is to be held in the Frenchgate Centre, starting on 16 July.

Achievable vision

Councillor John Hoare said: "Doncaster is very much at a turning point in its fortunes.

"We are becoming a place where people want to live, work and invest.

"It is therefore all the more important that we pay attention to the quality of the places where we live our lives so that they are attractive, safe and inspiring.

"The Town Centre Masterplan sets out a vision for quality regeneration which I feel is within our grasp. I am keen to know what people think about it."

The Masterplan can be found in public libraries and at the council's planning offices.

Closing date for comments is 13 August.
