City street to be spruced up
Work is to get under way on a project designed to make Hull's Anlaby Road more user friendly for pedestrians and cyclists.

Contractors will install new street furniture, guard rails to protect shoppers from passing traffic, and new paving.

There will also be parking for pushbikes, wheelchair ramps, and trees will be planted.

The work is being carried out between Walton Street and Boothferry Road.

Motorists using Anlaby Road are warned to expect possible delays.

Highways officials say the most disruptive work will be confined to Sundays when the roads are quieter.
