Woman assaulted on road

Police say three people may have witnessed the incident

Police in Jersey are investigating an alleged indecent assault on a road.

A woman in her mid-20s claims she was indecently assaulted by a man on Route de Noirmont, about 150 metres from the junction at Woodbine Corner at about 0315 BST on Sunday.

Police say the two people were seen sat on the pavement of the road.

A 33-year-old man is being questioned by police.

Officers are asking three motorists who may be able to help them investigate the incident to contact them.

They are looking for a taxi driver who dropped a couple in the area shortly before the assault is alleged to have taken place.

Two other cars also passed them. The driver of one stopped to ask if they were alright.
